NSW: Man accused of lying to ASIO about alleged Brigitte links

A man accused of lying to Australia's intelligence agency about his alleged links with
French terror suspect WILLY BRIGITTE, has appeared in a Sydney court.

ABDUL RAKID HASAN is charged with two counts of making misleading statements under
questioning by the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation in 2003.

According to an Australian Federal Police statement tendered to Downing Centre Local
Court, HASAN allegedly helped find accommodation in Sydney's south-west three times for
BRIGITTE -- whom he knew as JAMAL.

BRIGITTE was deported back to France in 2003.

The AFP statement said HASAN allegedly had 23 telephone conversations with BRIGITTE
between June the 12th and September the 29th, 2003.
