Fed: Terror strike on Aust possible - PM
Prime Minister JOHN HOWARD says a terrorist strike on the Australian mainland is agrim possibility.
Mr HOWARD says this week's bombing of the JW Marriott Hotel in Jakarta, which killed10 people, is a reminder of how unstable the region is.
He's told Melbourne radio 3AW that Australia is working closely with its partners andfriends in the region.
But he says there could be more terrorist attacks and there could be terrorist attackson the Australian mainland.
Mr HOWARD says although Australia is more secure than other nations in the region,there's no room for complacency.
He says he doesn't want to alarm Australians but wants to be frank about the possibilityof terrorism on Australian shores.
